Miway

At the beginning of August my vehicle was removed from my property whilst I was asleep. Point 1 without my knowledge or consent. The driver had an accident and my vehicle was written off by Miway. They towed it some 200km away from my home to have damage assessed I presume. I phoned Miway as soon as I gathered what had happened and went to the SAP and found that an accident report was already opened and taken care of by the police who were on the scene again this happened whilst I was asleep. I even took time from my busy schedule to assist the investigating officer from Miway during the investigation. Detail that was needed but as a client was not my job. To cut a long story short Miway rejected the claim based on the driver not having a driver’s license and as they call it. was a member of my household (which is not true or accurate) and again nothing to do with me as I did not give permission. I have since reported the case to the Ombudsman and from 3 August to date have been paying for a vehicle and insurance which I do not have. They (Miway) have the ordacity to inform me that I have to at my own cost pay for the wreck to have it towed back to my home after Miway had it removed some 200km to have it assessed The incident happened on 2 August 2020 and still I am without a vehicle and suffering the brunt of something which was no fault of my own. I will never advise anyone to join Miway ever! My life has since been thrown into turmoil as a result and Miway...does not care.

Remeber all of this happened whilst I was sound asleep. Did not have any idea what had happened but insurance premium was still debited from my account.

More detail to follow…

We've heard back from our disputes team and unfortunately, as this has been referred to the Ombudsman for Short-term insurance, we are unable to assist. Please refer any further queries you have, directly to them. Thanks!

Best regards,
The MiWay Team
