Lack of disclosure concerning lightning damage

Our house was struck by lightning last week Wednesday morning resulting in damage to our alarm system. MiWay has informed us that they will not be honouring our claim as lightning damage (formerly included with 'Act of God' events) has now been grouped electrical surge damage (due to all the loadshedding). I do not believe we were adequately informed of this change. So far, whilst looking for a new insurer, all the candidates do cover lightning damage. It's time to move on.
