The old saying rings true. A business will be tested when things go wrong, not when things go right. Wednesday last weeks I travelled 800km to Middelburg Mpumalanga. On the way I picked up a tiny chip on my windscreen. On arrival at about 14h00 I lodged a claim. Claim was approved within minutes and Autoboys were appointed to repair the chip. I had a call seconds later from Autoboys in Gauteng, assuring me the Middelburg branch will contact me. Until now they have not. On Friday late afternoon I phoned Miway, informing them that I need to return to Margate on Sunday, and as the chip hasn't been repaired yet, my concern is it will spread, to the extend that I need a windscreen replacement. I have made a recording of this call. I indicated that if that chip spreads to the extend that I need a new windscreen, I will not be liable for the co-oayment, as I had no fault in that. He was very unsympathetic, and mockingly insured me that I will, indeed, be liable for the co-oayment. I then had the chip fixed on Saturday, out of my own pocket, with PG Glass in Midde. They came to my location and charged me a measly fee of R220. I have sent emails to Miway, but no response. Like I say, judge a company not when things go right, but when things go wrong. Miway sucks.
