Inconvenienced paying client

I' m insured with Miway for both my vehicle and mobile device. Last year end of October my phone got damaged and I lodged a claim with Miway to have it sirted out. Miway contacted their service provider who came and took in the phone for assessment to see if it can be fixed. From the assessment they opted to fix the phone and a week later my phone was returned to claiming to have been fixed. But to my dismay a week later the phone started malfucntiong and the screen was inking. I reported this to miway and they got their service providers to come and fetch the phoine again to fix the problem. The phone was once again fixed and returned to me but only to find that the phone was still malfunctioning and the screen was freezing. Once again I reported to miway and they called their service providers and they again came and took the phone in for fixing. The phone was once again returned claining to have been fixed but it was still having the same problem.

This time I called Miway and demanded that a replacement phone is sought because clearly this phone is beyond fixing to which they concurred and started the process of finding a replacement phone. I expect this process to be a short and quick process only to find that it took longer than justified with me constantly havinf to call miway service centre to get an update on the progress and every time I would call Tracye, the person dealing with my claim was busy and she will call me back which never ever happened. Eventually after numerous attempts to get hold of Tracey I was told by another service consultant that Tracey has found quotes for the phone but they will be a shortfall of R3000 which I will be liable to pay seeing as I had reported the insured value of my phone to be R10 000 and I was shocked to hear of this and I refuted this statement. At no point did I claim my phone was worth that amount. I was told that Tracey will have to listen to the call made when I app**** to insure the phone and she will get back to me. Weeks went by and no communication was received fro Tracey and once I again I called in and Tracey tells me she is still trying to listen to the calls and verify if indeed I had said my phone was worth R10000 please keep in mind that 2 weeks had passed since i was last told Tracey will listen to the calls but she still hasnt and is claiming to still be trying to listen to them. Can you imagine the inconveince I am being put through having to gon on without a phone for weeks.

I call in again this Monday the 30th of January 2017 with frustration and anger and demand that I speak to Tracey's senior. I am transferred to Jaqculine Naidoo whom I'm told is Tracy's senior and she tells me that Tracey has listened to the calls and indeed has found that I did not claim the value of my phone is R10000 but instead I had asked the consultant to insure the phone for its value such that should anything happen to the phone the insurance will cover all the cost. Jacquilene assures me that this matter will be resolved as a matter of urgency.

I receive an email from Jaqcuiline later on in the day saying that there has been a misunderstanding that the reason why there is such a huge shortfall is because Tracey has quotes for an iphone 6S 64G as opposed to a 16G. She then later calls to inform me that they have searched for the iphone 6S 16 G from their service providers and no one has the phone available but offers an alternative iphone SE or that i look for the iphone 6S 16G from other network ptroviders and get a qoute and they will pay for it.

I proceed to look for quotes and find the phone at a certain istore bare in mind that now I'm being further inconveinced because now i have to perform their function. I forward the quote to Jacqueline and indicate to her that the phone is available and it is the last phone that the stires has in stock so they will need to act with speed.

I get an email from Jacquilene responding claiming that the quote I sent them which is for R10999 will have a shortfall which I will have to pay seeing as she and her Manager Sieghard agree that a fair maximum amount to pay on this claim is R10778.90 and they calim that this is fair because at the time that the device was still available and selling below R10500.

Now what boggles me is that they claim the phone is not available anymore but I have managed to find the phone in stores and it is going for R10999.The claim the phone was selling was selling below R10500 which is clearly not true because I have managed to find the phone and it's selling at R10999 and thirdly at no point did I request them to insure my phone for R10778.90 I asked them to insure my phone for its total replacement value should anything happen to it and this time its total replacement value is R10999 and I expect them to pay the full amount.

I've suffered so much during this process having to go on for 2 months without a phone and yet I'm paying. I have missed out on so many opportunities from potential employers who might have tried to contact to me to come for interview and I'm currently emotional drained and discussed at the poor service and treatment that I have been given by Miway.

Af

Reviewer Update

3 hours later and still no one from Miway has bothered to respond to me. This is the ****py service one has to deal with and yet again this morning a full debit order of their premium instalment was debited from my account.
