I will be looking for a new insurance

We've been with MiWay for +-5 years with zero claims, so 31/12/2024 wife driving to church hits a dog and we put in a claim, first they cancel the claim without contacting us. We call them they say they'll inform the consultant to contact us which doesn't happen. We call again we get a lady who was very helpful, that get sorted out. We get an email saying the claim was finalised, the damages totaling R13,146.63 and guess what we must pay more than miway. The total excess that we must pay is R7,800.00. Our access is R4800, the extra R3000 is because it was a single vehicle accident. So let me get this right, my wife should've rather hit the car that was on coming ?
