Horrific Experience

On the 9th of August 2016, I was involved in a car accident. I booked the vehcle in at Proline for 9h00 on the 10th of August. Despite receiving 2 emails and a phone call confirming my appointment, there was no one there to do the assessment. The assessment was done over an hour later. We were advised that the photos of the accident damage as well as a quotation will be uploaded to Miway. 2 days later, I received a call from the Sandton branch asking me to bring in my vehicle for an assessment. 3 days later, my husbank went back to Proline Wynberg and was told that they are awaiting Miway. In the interim, an email was received with the claim number and contact number and email address of Moleboheng Ledwaba. I have left 3 messages for Moleboheng and sent her an email but to no avail. The email specifically stated that someone will contact me within 2-3 working days. It is now the 22nd of August and no feedback. I called last week and was told that everything was to be finalised by the 19th of August. I called again today and was told that everything will be finalised by today. I asked Maria to speak to the Manager but was told that the Manager is busy and will phone me back. I'm not surprised that several hours later and she has not called me back. My policy document specifically states that the vehicle is being used for business purposes. The vehicle is currently leaking water. I cannot use the vehicle. I pay an additional R126.00 a month for a 30 day car hire in the event of an accident or my vehicle gets ******. I'm told that if I get the car hire I got to pay R1350 to the car hire which is refundable. There is nothing like this on the policy document. I'm told that should the claim be rejected for any reason then I need to pay the car hire company. With the horrific experience, I cannot take the chance of getting a car hire and not knowing what is the outcome of the claim. I am really inconvenienced now with no vehicle to do business. The Miway retention department tried for 2 weeks to convince me to stay with Miway. I have been referred to by a colleague of mine and now the whole office will know what hassles Miway gives you at claim stage. I regret not moving my business a year ago. Whilst waiting for the claim assessor to get off her high horse and service me, I received an email stating that my premiums will increase as part of an annual increase. Miway, it is a competitive industry, get up and service your clients. Even if you are not ready to make a decision, keep the customer in the loop. I hope after this review, I will at least get a call.
