Here it goes again - MiWay!!!

My husband got into an almost fatal accident on the N1 on the 03rd of September 2018. We logged the incident/claim (C997272) with MiWay the same day. On the 04th Galo called to take the information of the claim on the 04th. She only came back to me on the 17th of September letting me know that the car will be written off and she was going to contact my finance house for the settlement letter. She later called me on the 19th of Sep and told me that she recieved the settlement letter. I asked how much they paying out and she advised that it will be the retail value and therefore there will be a shortfall. I asked to speak to her manager as I had no clue that I took a cover like that and requested the recording of my call to find out of the consultant did mention that on the call. I am still waiting for the call till today. I took my time to contact MiWay on the 25th of Sep to follow up and was told that they are still retrieving the call and will get Galo to contact me before the end of business day the 25th. I am still waiting. My question is the 7-14 business days is up for my claim to be finalized, is MiWay trying to edit the call, is that the reason its taking so long to be retrieved. and while me and my husband are dealing with the trauma of loosing our car and him being in such an hectic accident, we also have to deal with this too.

I have received feedback shortly after I logged the complaint from Lesego who called me and advised that they listened to my call and that I actually did request for a credit shortfall cover. so my understanding was according to the below information I got on the net, my car would be covered in full. http://www.insurancechat.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/insurance.jpg Should an insured event occur, such as a theft or an accident that writes off the vehicle, your insurer will cover it for the replacement value – which is now less than the purchase price. Credit shortfall insurance, also called top-up or gap insurance, is designed to cover this gap so you don’t have debt on a vehicle you no longer own. It is advisable to add this optional extra to your policy particularly with new cars, but also on any vehicle purchase where a credit shortfall might arise. For example, purchasers of used cars where the price is 90% paid by finance should consider credit shortfall insurance. Scenario: Anne buys a car for R200 000 finances it through Wesbank. She insures the car with MiWay for its retail value and takes credit shortfall insurance as an optional add-on. The car is ****** months later when the retail value is R150 000. Anne still owes Wesbank R180 000. The shortfall amount is R30 000, which is covered by the credit shortfall add on. If she did not take credit shortfall cover, Anne would have had to cover this amount from her own pocket. This is what I expected when I took up the cover but I am getting feedback that I am required to pay about R20k over and above because there are some services I took up on the vehicle that the shortfall do not cover. When I took up the Insurance I did request that all is covered on the vehicle. Till this day I am still waiting for MY CALL with your representative!
