Frustrated about my claim with Miway
I sent my car to Ronnies motors to fix a problem with the ignition in February .The lockdown started while they were still waiting for the parts. In July I was called by Ronnies to inform me that the ignition is fixed but they have realised there is a dent next to the sunroof that is causing the leak. They discovered the was water which was coming from the roof as a result of the leakage.I then reported the incident to Miway who sent their assessor Maboke Mahlo and he declared the vehicle a write off.We were sent all the documents including the assessors report and Ronnies quotation which we are in a possession off and we were told to send Miway the settlement letter from the bank. Two days later we were called by Keagile Teffo to let us know that the cause of the leak is actually a wear and tear which is not covered. We requested the supporting documents in the form of a quote or an assessor report. After deliberations between us and them they then changed the goal posts and said they will investigate if we were covered at the time when we sent the car to Ronnies. After two weeks of series of meetings Kea Phele told us they will only cover the dent and not the damages caused by the water from the leakage. Ronnies technician told us that the wires on the car were on the floor and covered with water that could have caused damages due to leakage and it would be dangerous to drive it.We find working with Miway so stressful and worse than being in a court of law.Their focus is on saving money at all costs even if it means to demonize the client. We have been through serious hell from Miway who we thought we pay them for difficulty times. They just make it even worse. How did they changed the report from being a write off to just paying for a dent and nothing else. They don't care if the car is dangerous to drive as Ronnies have declared and the assessor report.
