**********ly debitting aco****s to possibly earn interest before paying back your money

I entered into a business insurance contract for a shuttle service on the 16 of October 2018 and was due to pick up the car on the 19th of June The car had a material defect and I did not take possession of the vehicle and subsequently cancelled the deal Miway had debited my account that morning for the pro rata portion until the end of the month I cancelled the contract on Monday as I had not taken the car and therefore did not need to be covered A representative from Miway called to find out why I was cancelling and we agreed that she would contact Aucor Durban directly to get supporting documentation for the cancellation

She assured me that should the debit go off on the agreed upon date (26th October) it would take a few days to refund me the premium deducted

To my disgust, Miway continued with the debit on the 24th of October despite the policy stating that I get paid on the 25th and the premium should be deducted on the 26th This created unnecessary bank charges and affected my credit scoring as it seemed that I did not have sufficient funds to my obligations when those obligations were debited on incorrect date

What I fail to understand is why send me a cancellation letter and then debit my account on the incorrect date? I would've been happy to wait for the refund if the amount was taken on the correct date

I would like Miway to send me details of the call when the insurance was taken up and show me where I agreed that they should me on the 24th

At this stage no refund will mend the effect on my credit score which will take several months to normalise

I am seeking legal advise on this matter as I believe it was ********** of Miway to debit my account after having agreeing on why the policy should be cancelled before the 26th and not the 24th I would like to find out if I will also be getting interest on such amounts as they would've earned in my savings account
