Found out I have not been covered but money was deducted

On Tuesday ( 5 Dec 2017 ) i took out a policy with miway for my new car,i was advised i need to take the car to PG glass for inspection, Saturday ( 9 Dec 2017) i had appointment cartrack to install the tracker that "miway prefers" even though the car already had tracker installed by another company, after the 2 hour appointment with cartrack i go to PG glass and found out that it is already closed, I called miway and informed them that i could not take the car for inspection i will have to take it the following weekend because i work during the week. Then i was advised that since I did not take the car for inspection within 48 hours of opening the policy it means i am not cover, should anything happen to the car miway will not pay. my question was why did miway deduct the money on my account if i am not covered , because my first premium went through on Friday the 8th. what is that premium for if i am not covered? So i asked to cancel the policy since i am not covered anyway, i was advised that i will not be refunded, why should i not be refunded if i was not covered and if the money was taken after the 48 hour deadline, what is that money for ? I am in the process of reversing the money that was taken from my account. I advice everyone who works and is busy during the week not to take out miway car insurance policy because you are going to miss a 48 hour deadline and not be covered even though miway will deduct your money. I understand why miway requires an inspection but i do not understand why the costs for it are pushed to the customer while they sitting in the office and deducting money, why can't miway ask PG glass to come inspect the car at the client site since they already do sites visits for glass installation ?
