False Promotion

I recently responded to a challenge which one of Mi-WAY Sales agents put to me. Similar to that is flighted by Outsurance on various media platforms. I could however not commit to anything on the phone at the time, as I had to compare like-for-like. In their “challenge” they claim that if they cannot MATCH OR BETTER what you are currently paying on your car insurance, they commit to paying you R400, if you had been claim-free for more than three (3) years with your current insurance company. It is a very small “Carrot” compared to the likes of Outsurance and Old Mutual, but it is the principle behind the thing. They encourage you to send your Current Insurance Schedule to the website. I then duly did it, with the understanding that they would prepare me a quote which mirrors exactly what I am currently covered for, at a better premium. Then Radio Silence. I then had the trepidation that Mi-WAY would try and repudiate the matter and worm their way out of it. The only inference I could draw was that Mi-WAY could neither match nor better my current premium. Needless to say, to this day, that after a numerous mails and messages, which were never returned, I am still none the wiser and feel that I have no other option, but to escalate the matter. I then escalated a complaint, as a matter of principle, to the management and not the money. By escalating it you only collect a lot of reference numbers. I thought that I could not be the only person, they are probably getting away with it, as some people might not have the fortitude to pursue a matter of this nature. I can only surmise that they have no intention of honouring the promotion and that Mi-WAY is not too confident of them beating your premium, hence them only providing a very small “Carrot”, as not to loose too much in the event that they cannot match or better your current premium. The promotion still runs on the website to this day and there is no mention that "Prospective Clients" would be subjected to untold frustration in the event that they choose to take-up the challenge. I am of the opinion that it constitutes “False Promotions” and just another “****” and waste of time which is being run by Mi-WAY - Insurance, which the public needs to be aware of. I need Senior Management to remedy this situation, as I’m now forced to follow this route.
