False Advertizing

I feel it prudent of me to alert the public of the **** which is being perpetrated by MiWAY- Insurance. Please allow me to elaborate; At the beginning of June 2019, I responded to an advert flighted on the airwaves by MiWAY- Insurance. In the advert they claim that if they cannot MATCH OR BETTER what you are currently paying on your car insurance, they commit to paying you R400, if you had been claim-free for more than three (3) years with your current insurance company. I subsequently sent–off the SMS requesting a callback. Promptly one of their sales-agents called, with whom I spent the best part of half an hour on the phone with. I subsequently spent some time on the phone with the agent, as it was their pitch if they could not MATCH OR BETTER your premium, they would compensate you for your trouble. For good measure, I also attached my Current Insurance Schedule to a mail and duly asked the agent, to both MATCH OR BETTER the premium I was currently paying and compare like for like. After a few weeks of not getting any feedback, I sent numerous mails and messages, which were never returned. I then escalated a complaint, as a matter of principle to the management, because I thought that if they are doing it one person, they are probably getting away with it, as some people might not have the fortitude to pursue a matter of this nature. Needless to say, to this day, that after more than a month they still haven’t honoured their advert, as I surmise that they never had the intention to do so, as they depend on the fact that you would forget. I’m of the opinion that it constitutes “False Advertising” and just another ****, which the public needs to be aware of.
