EXCESS TOO HIGH

Good Afternoon,

I would like to inquire about something that is really bothering me. I got involved in an accident that was not my fault. I submitted a claim and it got approved but what I am worried about is the excess fee of R42000 which is close to half of what my car is worth. I just want to find out how was this R42000 calculated. Because I have instalments to pay on my car which is R5400 I have Insurance premium that is R1300 I earn close to R1000 a month and it is really difficult for me. If possible can there be a way that my excess can be revised maybe if my premium goes up based on my current claim. I really need some clarity on how the R42000 was calculated. I was told that it will go down as time goes and I've been with Miway for more than 6 months now. Please help me. I am stuck and have no idea what to do.

Thank you.
