Disingenuous Insurance Company

So I’ve recently switched from Santam to MiWay Insurance for my vehicle. Their insurance just like other standard insurances came with a roadside assistance. According to the contract, you get towed to nearest service provider/place of safekeeping. On the 29th I had a mechanical breakdown, and I requested to be towed to the nearest Service Provider. I get told that by the nearest Service Provider they imply a towing company’ storage place .I expected a service provider to be a BMW dealership or a service provider approved by them who is able to fix the vehicle which was the case with Santam. Worse they found a service provider 50km backwards to where I was going who quoted me R5000 to tow the truck to where I wanted it to be towed. Their policies says if you are stranded more than 100km from your home (which I was), you get offered alternative transportation and you get your vehicle repatriated at a cost not exceeding R1000, this option they kept mum about. I regret changing to them just to save a few rands because now I am paying a hefty price for it.

It’s easy to respond here and apologies. The feedback I got from your so called team was not helpful and frankly displeasing. Basically you are not willing to change the service provider who comes from Mokopane because your systems prioritieses service providers over your own clients. According to Enoch, whatever service provider has accepted the job you need to stick with them regardless of whether it disadvantages the client or not. This service provider comes from 50 km behind to where I am at and headed. He is going to be paid a full round trip from his place of operation to where I am at, which is all what you will cover which stills comes from my benefits. From where I am to my destination, I have to cover that in full from my own pocket. In essence I should just get my own service provider from where I am and pay for the service in full. I asked that you get a different service provider from ahead of me instead, in that way there would not be a round trip and that my quotation will also be less as he wouldn’t need to go back to where he picked me up. You are refusing to do this because of the system that puts your service providers first. I have resorted to making my own means while I have so called roadside assistance benefits which are now proving to be a sham!!
