Disappointing treatment from Miway.
My vehicle was involved in an accident early September 2021. I reported this accident to Miway immediately and a claim was filed.
After filing an accident report at the police station my vehicle was scheduled by Miway to be towed the following day from my place of residence a repair shop scheduled by Miway where it would be assessed and repaired.
Following weeks patiently waiting I was notified by both Miway and Repair shop on the that the repairs done on my vehicle were complete and that I should come collect my vehicle.
On my arrival the consultant assigned to my vehicle went through the repairs done on my vehicle by his team. I then on my own furthermore inspected the basic functions of my car and at that time of inspection I found the following unacceptable;
a) The rear right-hand side (RHS) window was refusing to close. b) The paint job done on the RHS vehicle door handles was poor and the rear RHS fabric panel covering the wheel was painted red. c) The front windscreen was cracked.
I raised the above findings with the repair shop consultant and He only rectified Issue A. He said I could always come back on a later stage to rectify Issue B as the paint job done is under their 10 year warranty. With regards to Issue C, he said he would take it up with his manager and will respond to me before close of business that day.
I waited over a week for a follow up from the repair shop with regards to Issue C but to no response. When eventually the repair shop responded they said I should log another claim with Miway and they would settle the access fee owed on the claim.
I was shocked to hear this and immediately contacted Miway regarding all the findings noted above and the poor service I recieved. Friday, 15 October 2021 I received a follow up call from a Miway consultant instructing that I take my vehicle during the day back to the repair shop and unfortunately due to other commitments I could not and told the consultant that I would do so on the next immediate business day.
On Monday, 18 October 2021 whilst making my way to work I noticed my vehicle had a strange vibration when I would accelerate and noticed the same vibration on my way from work to the repair shop only this time my vehicle kept switching off and on and further more not accelerate. The vehicle made a sound and an Engine Warning Light appeared as I drove to the nearest filling station for assistance. I called the vehicle manufacturer about the Engine Warning light and they advised me to bring my car to Mercedes Benz Bryanston to be assessed by a Mercedes Benz Mechanic ergently. Whilst at filling station I attempted to pour petrol into my vehicle so I could make my way to Bryanston and my petrol cap failed to open. This was when I decided to call Miway as this was another issue/finding arising after having recieved my vehicle back from the repair
Miway then scheduled my vehicle again for a tow from my place of residence to the repair shop on Tuesday.
My vehicle was towed from my place of residence at 07:36. On my arrival at the repair shop offices at 08:22 to follow up on my vehicle I was told my vehicle had been towed to the wrong location and they would call me once it arrives.
It's been 3 days without any correspondence from either Miway or the repair shop. I am currently at the critical point of my pregnancy without a vehicle to attend my daily obligations and further more having no idea as to where my vehicle is at the moment. The manner in which I and the issues regarding my vehicle have been handled is greatly disappointing.
