Disappointed, no communication, taking forever to pay out claim

I have had such an awful experience with Miway, we had no sort of communication regarding our claim, when we eventually do call in we are given the same story the claim will pay out during the day. We were told all this will be dealt with within 7 days but its been 10 days and counting without a phone. I am traveling tomorrow, I can not leave my mother without a phone. I joined the insurance because as a female I thought this insurance does so great for us.
