Disappointed

I have been with MiWay since 2019, I stayed with them even though every year without fail they made sure that they increase my premium and excess by percentages that I didn't even get on my salary increase. This year the increase was up to 27% bringing my premium to R1400 on a 2018 Ford Eco Sport and Household contents included and an excess of R7000. I decided to finaly leave them to join another insurer.

Because I get paid on the 20th of each month, my first debit order was prorated to cover the 10 days remaining of the month I joined and the full premium for the upcoming month, this meant that every 20th of each month, I was paying for the next month's cover. Today, when I want to cancel the cover, I am being told that I am covered from the 20th of the current month to the 19th of the next month and till the last day of the month. The new insurer will only be able to cover me from the 1st of the new month, this also meaning that I will have a break in cover of about 10 days. What is disappointing is that I saw myself as a valued customer of MiWay but this experience has definitely proved to me that even though I have been loyal to the company, their loyalty to me as a client is very questionable.
