Delay with Claim

Hi there.

Lodged a motor vehicle claim on the 12th of December 2017, fast forwarding to the actual complaint. I had agreed to the write the vehicle off because of the extent of the damages. So I forward a copy of the original registration papers (log book) which clearly states that the vehicle is used and my advisor sends an email on the 18th of December with write off options that state that I will receive 30% less of my payout. When I asked on how they came to that conclusion, the advisor says that my vehicle is showing as a Rebuild on their system. I clearly insured the vehicle for its Retail Value and the Assessors Report state this. I even had a chat with the local Motor Vehicle Registering Authority and they confirm that the vehicle is still has a status of Used. Eventually the Advisor admits that someone had entered the wrong information onto their system which costs me a 2 day delay. On the 20th of December I send through the completed Change of Ownership documents. On the 21st of December, I arrange to have the Original Registration Papers and Manuals couriered to Miway and they were received at around 10-11am on the 22nd of December. I did follow up expecting that the Validation of the claim would be complete by yesterday afternoon. So I decided to give Miway a call this morning in regard to receiving some sort of feedback and they tell me that they have not completed that as yet.

I had complained to the Manager because I expected to have this matter closed, especially because an error was made on their side and more especially because I have sent through all documentation. I literally have one day, the 27th of December 2017 to purchase and take delivery of my new vehicle. Now I'm being told that I will only receive feedback on Wednesday.

I expected better from Miway, especially because of the error made on their side.

Really really not impressed.

I will start a new job on the 2nd of January 2018 that requires me to commute from home to work (shiftwork) at least 70km a day and I do not have a vehicle. I have clearly stated from the beginning that the matter is urgent and because of their error that it should take the norm of 2 weeks to be finalised.

Now there aren't any Senior Managers in claims that give me some sort of feedback on why it hasn't been validated and paid out and I have to wait until Wednesday for some answer.
