Definitely don't waste your money on credit shortfall and If you want value for money use someone else.
After more than 3 years at MiWay I will never recommend them to anyone again, in fact I will make sure that people that use MiWay know what they are in for.
On the 23nd of September a driver skipped a red robot and T-boned my bakkie. My bakkie was declared a write off by MiWay on the 28th. It has been back and forth with emails and phone calls between myself and MiWay up until today the 10th of October. They have finally processed the payment. If you ask me they were taking their time to find a reason not to pay my shortfall cover which they insisted I had to take when I first signed up.
While they were taking their time to make payment, interest came into effect and and my settlement quote went up and guess what. I need to pay the difference now. The first settlement letter was sent on the 2nd of October and the second on the 10th of October. If I did not get involved and call and email endlessly to try and get something out of MiWay I would probably still be waiting.
Best Part is yet to come!
MiWay can't explain to me whey they cannot pay my shortfall cover! When asking the MiWay representative "why?" She simply said "I don't know" She then offered to send me a screenshot of the calculations. Trying to stay calm I explained why this does not make sense. She responded that she agrees with me but this is what the calculation says. I calmly explained again how this was wrong and how they offered the cover to me and again she said that she agrees with me fully but she doesn't know what to say.
I was at outsurance for over 5 years when I moved to MiWay for a slightly cheaper premium. Lesson learnt, you get what you pay for!
Best regards,
