deceptive advertising

A claim was lodged for damage to structure and an assessor and contractor were appointed to the claim. A week later a call was received from the assessor informing that the contractor who had come to my house advised that the damage to the property was done before the insurance taken out and accordingly MiWay will not be paying. In other words the client becomes a **** and makes it seem like we want to make easy money. How can you assume from pictures or not viewing the house before the house was insured, that such damages were done before insurance was taken. Clearly they are not doing things my way but rather conning people to take insurance that does not benefit them at all.
