Deceiving
I'm disappointed with Miway and how they handling my claim. From the beginning when the claim was logged, I have been the one doing all the calling and the follow up's. They told me that they are writing off my car, as it's economically not fixable. They told me the value of the car is R32400 minus the access of R3500.00, then my pay out will be R28 900.00. Once I agreed to that they requested that I send through, the car's registration documents and complete the change of ownership documents. They collected the car and the documents together with the spare key were done on the same day. They received everything, then I was advised that they need to do a validation, my question was how because when they claim was opened they didn't even request a OB number from the police station.
They only investigating after they have collected the car and received the car's documents. Today when I called in, the consultant I spoke to asked if they had explained the write off to me and they pay out, I them that they told me the value of the car and that they will deduct access. He said not there are additional costs that they should of discussed with me before they collect the car and request the documents. Now I'm being told there is an additional access fee I have to pay and an extra R5000.00 because the car is not in good condition. at the end I will only received R20 900.00 instead of R28 900.00. They might as well bring my car back, because that car is still drivable and fixable.
What upsets me the most is how do you take a person's car and write it off. This is deceiving and dishonesty from Miway. And you constantly need to be the one calling in to get an update. They are not bothered. I'm so upset they must just bring back my car and documens
