Crash Repair Series of Problems
MiWay has really appointed the most unprofessional repairer and this has been an unending nightmare.
Jan 24th i went to pick up my bike following accident repairs. I carried out a visual inspection and was happy with the work JMD had done. However upon cranking the bike , i could hear the bike's weak power. Assuming this is due to the bike standing too long , i paid my access and signed off. However 3 minutes away from their shop i had the bike get stuck on me in heavy traffic. Cranked it again and noticed the trouble it gave again..cutting off a few times again which never happened before and fortunately moved it to safety to inspect. Throttle valves in right position and fuel in tank , but i was definitely sure the bike had no power. I returned it to JMD the very same day where a mechanic was asked to test ride it around the block. He got back and said there's nothing wrong with the bike. This is not a high power bike but it doesn't take a moto head to hear the bike was struggling. After a staring contest , i was dismissed with '' if it does it again bring it back " . Something i didn't want to hear when am going to be driving among traffic and having been bumped on the same bike.
I rode the bike cautiously in its weak state. Two days later after not riding it, i couldn't start the bike at all. The battery powers on but couldn't crank.Tried kick starting , nothing . The bike wouldn't crank at all. JMD came by to pick it up where i was, when i reported it.
It's been by them ever since. Last Friday i went to pick the bike up. Cranked it and as it's idling the bike was honestly sounding worse. I didn't have to say anything , the front desk lady called a mechanic. They mentioned over the phone that it could be because it's been standing too long. When he got to the front of the shop he finally agreed with me that its a not a battery problem. Ok , then how do we proceed because am here to fetch a bike that's been repaired and it can barely even move. The rude front lady whom i hardly exchanged words with says " dit is nie ons probleem nie! " . They call Joss , told me they'll have a look at the bike but they usually charge R950. AM LOST FOR WORDS AT THIS POINT. IS YOUR INCOMPETENCY MY FAULT THEN. Honestly this is turning out to be such a nightmare of a repair and claims process. I need help and it's been way too long for such a small bike. MiWay should have not taken my bike to JMD when Suzuki is right next door. Where i bought , service and repair because they are professional.
I am not prepared to collect a bike that is not repaired to standard. I gave the shop reasonable chance to fix this to my satisfaction but they do not even communicate ,no compassion despite being patient with them and risking my life on a bike that dies on me.
