I m a Miway Comprehensive Policy holder client since 2010 December Policy # ********** with two cars insured.
I had an accident on the 28th of Aug 2017 on N1-N Bela-Bela. My insurance was contacted on the scene and they sent through their preferred service provider to tow me from the accident scene. SAPS office attended the scene.
on the 6th of September 2017 I received and authorisation from Miway which the quote came to R67,586.50 on the 23rd of October 2017, I received an email and a call from Thinus Van Dyk advising that my approval is now held as I need to provide them with consent for tracker report . this is because, the work that need to be done has now increased to over R160k. he needs to prove that I did not drive the car after the accident.
now this is very shocking as it is their own service provider that towed the car from the accident scene. the police report is also clear where they found the car. the truck that caused the accident was also available for his statement and the cargo company details were also provided.
so how does the authorisation status change just because the damage amount has change? so is the authorisation subjected to lower cost not to merits of the case? to date there is no response from miway on what is going on but rather silent.
this is very *********, unprofessional behaviour from such a big organisation.
