Claims not being attended to while my vehicle becomes more dangerous to drive (Part 2)

I had previously written a review about the service delivery received from Miway Insurance, on a Tyre and Rim claim. The claim was put through on the 28th JUNE 2021, today being the 02nd AUGUST 2021 my vehicle has yet to be repaired. I explained the dangers of a single female, driving daily using a biscuit tyre and no spare wheel, however, Miway still delayed the entire process - it also happened to be the same time we experienced the unrest/riots/looting in Durban. I had no choice but to drive my unsafe vehicle to work and back through the times of the unrest and looting, as there was no other was to get to work. My claim was initiated two weeks before the unrest. Miway, from the beginning of the process, only approved the claim and paid me out about a week ago (a week after the looting). I am awaiting a tyre which as a result of the looting is in low supply. I believe it would have been fixed long before if Miway had not been going back and forth with a simple claim. I shudder to think how my process would be hanndled for a more serious incident. During this process I made several calls, daily, and sometimes several times a day, between Miway and Miway's approved Panel Beater , I had to constantly follow up and ask for email confirmation as Miway was undecided about paying my claim, even though I was covered for it. The amount I was initially given was less than that of the quote supp**** by the panel beater - which caused a further delay. I currently do not have a date when my vehicle will be fixed. If I had know the process would have taken this long I would have at least bought a spare tyre to keep in my vehicle, however, I was always promised results but no urgency was placed on it, even after I explained my increasing concerns about my unsafe vehicle. Furthermore, I had asked for my excess to be waivered due to all the hassle I had experienced and I was told NO. I had not received a courtesy call to find out of my car had been repaired. I am extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with the lack of empathy and sheer disregard for the lives of their clients. Peoples lives are at stake, insurance companies are there to protect their clients, but everyday, especially through the unrest till now I do not feel at ease knowing Miway is my service provider.
