Claim rejection

I had a minor accident in April 2015. A few days later, I was told that my car would be written off and that my claim was to be assessed. My claim was rejected on the grounds that I did not have an SA driver's license, but all this time that i was paying they knew I did not have one. I have an International drivers licence which they acknowledged upon my application. They even took my documentation for approval and had my international driver's license number on my policy documents. Only when I wanted to claim did they bring it up to say we won't be giving you cover. I took my case to their dispute department and to the Ombudsman to no avail. This process took approximately 6 months and all I could do was wait. MiWay then took my car to SMD car salvage yard. And because my claim was rejected, I have to fork out over ZAR20,000 to collect my car. They even sent their lawyers to contact me and request that money from me.MiWay rejected my claim after being with them for so many years and now I have to pay more money to get my car and fix it myself. Fair enough, my claim was rejected, at least allow me to take my car & fix myself without being asked to pay more money.
