Claim Process complaint
I was involved in an accident on the 28th of April as a result of trying to escape a high jacking. By God’s grace myself and the passenger made it out of the accident with just minor scratches. I was so traumatized post the incident especially knowing that some failed attempted high jackings end up with the victims being shot just for sabotage. I contacted my insurance post the accident and the police also came to the scene and took my statement.
The following day I contacted the Miway call centre to understand the process and the lady on the call centre told me that she would need from me the recollection of events and that a claim assessor would contact me to assist in processing my claim. The assessor contacted me on the 30th of April and I gave Him a recollection of events. I was requested to also make some time with him to go to the scene of the accident to show him the scene of the accident and we proceeded to do that on the 2 of May. We went to the scene and showed Him my where about from Saturday till the morning of the accident. He requested from me the following 1. The accident report 2. ID and Drivers 3. Proof of purchase details from the finance house 4. Detail of last time the car was refuelled 5. Cell phone invoice and itemised billing report. I obliged and provided all the requested details on the same day also a new signed consent that provides insurance to request my 1. Tracking details 2. Police and medical information 3.ANPR and more. The claim assessor informed me that my details would be submitted on the day to the manager and should receive feedback on my claim within 48 working hours. I was contacted on Monday by my assessor for a second meetup to discuss further information. He first started to ask about my phone (Not included in the consent forms; clear invasion of my privacy) and proceeded to take images of my Google Maps timeline (which I don’t understand why it was even requested, but I obliged) on the day and day before of the accident. I was then questioned on merit of my statement regarding my claim and was informed that my claim would be submitted as a dishonesty. Shocked by the news I took in the bad news and was told that I would hear of my claim on the Friday on that week, 10 May. To my confusion I was told that my information would only be processed the following week as the meeting was cancelled and would only occur the following week on the Friday.
I was contacted on following Friday only to be informed by my assessor that additional information is required for my claim!
Would MiWay please intervene. I have given all my personal information and have not withheld anything my assessor. I have provided way more Information than is required and most of this has nothing to do with my accident. I have been under intense stress trying to get resolution to my claim and I have lost alot in this. My life will never be the same and I will have to live with the trauma of an attempted highjacking and loss of my first car. My faith in Miway has really been *****ed and I feel that my claim is delayed with no concrete feedback from my assessor.
