car insurance

As a client I want to share my experience with Miway customer and potential customers. My Car was in an accident on the 02.06.2018, I was travelling out of the country at the time for the accident. My Husband and a friend was driving the car during the accident, I was unreachable at the time. When I returned from my Holiday a Mi Way representative JP called me on the 13.06.2018 to Notify me that a claim was logged which I was confused as I was still travelling from my holiday back home. The Miway representative JP informed me that a claim was logged by the tow truck driver which I did not appreciate that some random guy logged a claim without my consent. JP’s response was it was to protect the client, I asked him to call my husband as my husband will be able to give him all the details of the accident. JP called his friend to get his side of the story of the accident.

On the 14.06.2018 JP, arranged for the car to be picked up at my house as it needed to be assessed by Dals Libertas. On the 15.06.2018 the assessor Gavin contacted me to asked what happened, I then asked him to speak to my husband as he would be able to explain better as to what has happened the night of the accident .By me doing this I did not that want to not confuse anyone.

JP (Miway representative) did an investigation with regards to my claim, I understand that the insurance company Miway needs to do there job however I feel my claim was treated unfairly and the company is ********* to what they stand for. The moment they found out my husband only had a learners and his friend had a license they felt the need to investigate our personal life, JP (Miway representative) approached our friends, family to interview them about the accident in which they had no clue of what happened and they were not present or involved. He went as far as interviewing a under age boy too which I found out later on, I personal feel that this was wrong. After Two weeks Jp (Miway representative) contacted me on a Friday 20.06.2018 to notify me the amount of the damagers, which he also then mentioned that he needs to speak to my husband. After a few hours he then contacted me back and informed me that my husband requested to see a video which JP received during his investigation. I was alarmed by the fact that JP (Miway representative) had a video footage of the accident and not once did he mention it to me. We then arrange to meet up on the next Monday in order for him to show us the video footage of the accident. After seeing the video, I questioned the video as the footage was not clear and JP (Miway representative) tried to paint a picture in my head that he can clearly see one person in the car and that the car was moved by my husband only. I disagreed as I could not see our vehicle or identify our number plate in the video footage. He then mentioned that we need to drop the claim because should he present it they will dismiss the claim due to dishonesty. I then asked him what is dishonest about the claim as we honestly logged a valid claim. We mentioned everything from the beginning of the claim in all honesty.

A day after seeing the video on the 26.06.2018 JP called me to inform me that he spoke to his manager about my claim and they will present it on the Thursday of that week. I've asked JP, if it was possible if I could speak to his manager and he then asked me to hold the line in which I've done. After a few minuets the manager comes back on line and I could hear he (JP) pretended to be the manager. I (Lana), then asked him who am I speaking to and his (JP’s) responded it's me JP you wanted to speak to me. I then responded no I was holding for your manager, JP then acted all confused and said no you asked for me, we went back and forth about the manager. Why place me on hold after I’ve asked for a manager then pretend to be the manager, this is *********. At that time I realized that something was happening and I then told him that his now pretending to be the manager and then saying I wanted to speak to him in as JP after I asked may I speak with your manager.JP then said he will get the manager to call me back. After ending the call with JP, I immediately contacted the call centre and asked to speak to JP's manager in which she was not available and the consultant who assisted me emailed JP’s manager notifying her to call me back. I felt well played by JP and the manager Rene herself was not helpful at the time she called me. After JP presented the claim of that Thursday JP contacted me as they needed more information. He asked if they may go ahead to do a beacon and billing check. As a client, I have my rights and I refused for them to go further into our personal life.

They then mentioned should I decline the claim will be rejected and my insurance will be cancelled. After they investigated my claim Miway insurance decided to rejected the claim due to noncompliance as I did not agree for them to go ahead with the beacon and billing. Wow...do we as clients (consumers) have no rights in this country. Jp contacted me on the 05.06.2018 to give me the feedback of the claim, he also said my police has cancelled on the 04.06.2018. Now I understand the claim was presented on the 5.06.2018 and they cancelled my police a day before the outcome of the claim. I think they now exactly how to get money out of customers. What kind of business is Mi way running?

My car was then returned from the insurance in which we agreed to return my car on the Friday 06.07.2018 in which they failed to do,it only arrived Saturday morning. Later the afternoon I tried to Park my car inside my car would not start, currently my car is outside my house.I contacted Miway and they simply said that they cannot help me any longer as the claim is closed, I need to speak to the disputes department. My car was able to drive at the time the insurance collected the car on the 14.06.2018 and now the car cannot drive nor does it start. What bothers me is the fact that Miway deducted the months of July premium. Miway refuses to help me , I'm in total shock at this present moment and just can't seem to get to the real reason why Miway has treated me in this way. If I could rate this service ill give it a zero.
