C807934 - Unable to proceed with recovery

<p>I had an accident on the 28/12/2016 CRN cr Swart at a Total garage, Truck registrtation number CM 33 NH GP belonging to Mr Govender sub cotracted to Fair price driven by Siphumele Mxasa reversed on to me , i called EMPD waited and finally went to the police station with the driver , all the paper work was completed and then forwarded to Miway with pictures of the car and the copy of the statement to their claims department. The claim was approved and on the 09/01/2016 i get an email from Lana Van Der Berg to be told that i need a witness statement because the third party is now giving conflicting story. i then phoned the driver (Mr Mxasa) who assured me that he hant changed his statement and it was in fact Mr Govender ( the truck owner) who is lying.The very same Mr Govender who i soike to on the day of the accident.I made a follow up with Lana only to be told that the guy that handles the insurance is in holiday and will be back in February, On the 01/02/2017 another Email for m Lana telling me they are not able to proceed with the claim because of conflicting Statement! HOW CAN IT BE CONFLICTING AFTER THE STATEMENT WAS MADE TO THE POLICE STATION to make matters worse i am told to get the driver to make an affidavit stating he was indeed wrong, How is this any different from the intitial statement made to the police? On 01/02/2017 i had enough with this issues i phoned the call center to cancell my policy and they were not available. i am so disapponited that in the event of an accident making a statement is a waste of time as Miway was lazy to investigate and get the infomation from the police stattion and CCTV footage for the Garage where the accident occured. Why would i if i was in the wrong phone the truck owner on the day of the accident to tell him what happened? Why is it that when we claim they look at a reason not to pay? my access is R4250, and i am not going to get the money back because the owner of the truck AND NOT the driver is denying the accident???</p> <p> </p> <p>highly irritated</p> <p>Margaret Rasebetshela</p> <p> ********** </p>
