********* behaviour
Good afternoon,
Sunday, I did an online request on Hippo's website on a vehicle I was scheduled to collect today. The agent was very knowledgeable on questions that I had asked.
He provided me with a quotation and when I informed him that I am awaiting further insurers to provide me with quotes, and that I'd like for him to call me back at a later time, he further reduced the price to R500.00. Asking what the snag would be/the cost for the reduction, he advised that there was none.
I then asked that he sends it on email, to which he responded that the quote sent via email is at the higher rate, but that the verbal one is being recorded and is accessible at a later stage. Going back n forth, he convinced me that as all sign ups have to have a recording, I then asked him to give me to provide me a quote for my current vehicle as well.
The quote was very attractive as for both vehicles, I would pay R735.43. I then agreed to sign up, and he advised that he will assist with the cancellation. What transpired then is that he dialled me in to Outsurance and was gone, i.e. he didn't stay on the line and I needed to explain everything from scratch.
Outsurance provided me with a better rate, to which I then agreed to keep the one car with them, and to take the new car with MiWay.
I could not get hold of this agent again to inform him of this. I emailed your *** email address (as this is the only written contact info of this agent) quoting the quote number and asking him to call me back. Nothing happened.
I sent a reminder email this morning...still nothing. I called MiWay, and when selecting the option call cost to be covered by MiWay, I receive a call back that disconnects as soon as I answer it. I logged a "Call Back" on your website...still nothing. When going to the contact page, and logging a request, an agent calls me back to assist.
The person I was transferred to (***), says that the discussed rate of R500.00 has not been logged by the agent, and he's now on leave. And should I want to remove the one insured vehicle, then I'd get a higher rate.
Explaining that the rate was given prior to enquiring about the 2nd vehicle, I insisted on have the recording listened to. According to Thabo, the manager claims that he didn't hear a confirmed R500.00, to which I insisted on getting the recording.
I'm told that the recording may be sent within 72hrs, but that it's not guaranteed. Yet, the "manager" was emailed the recording tk which he claims my discussion was not had and I have to now follow protocol in which to receive the evidence, which they more than likely would delete! Thabo further explained that his manager can try to find the manager of that initial agent, but that there are 4-5 different managers. I flipped out because this is daylight *******...and my first payment that is scheduled to go off on the 31st, I'm being told has already been processed, yet it's only the 24th. Magtapes DO NOT work like that!
So now, MiWay, is forcing to pay the higher than agreed rate. My current car is going to be billed by both my current insurer, as well as MiWay, which is totally *********.
Oh, and Thabo decided to disconnect the call while I was still speaking. I emailed him to say that he disconnected me, and has yet to respond.
I refuse to accept this nonsense and will take matters further. I expect this matter to resolved. I was signed up *********ly and the recording will prove how the agent was reluctant to send me the discussed rate.
If each client is ****** like this by MiWay, you guys are making quite a penny.
I want answers!
Alicia
