Be careful with MiWay

Miway will go out of their way not to pay your claim. We registered a fire damage claim for our house, 2 weeks ago and they went their way to ensure that they do not pay the insured amount, to offering us less R30 000. The assessor appointed went on to increasing the value of our house to Almost 3 Million, to ensure that we will end up under-insure (for a house in a rural area) When we phoned the claim administrator, she adviced that they use their own systems to calculate the value of the properties and the value for the property has nothing to do with the area it was builds at (over R8000 per m2 in rural area?) However when taking the insurence cover, we were asked of the price it will cost to build the house and to replace the entire structure (I mean, this house is in rural area and we took the cover amount based on the amount payed to build) As for the claims admin she doesn't want to hear anything but to protect their assessor and the isurer. How rude was she to tell us to find our own Surveyor to assess the value of our house and send it to dispute department. BE CAREFUL OUT THERE. MIWAY!! Is simply TheirWay. Over two weeks of a fire claim, roof damage, no electricity, they wouldn't even bother to assist with logging and ESKOM claim or even ask if anyone suffered from smoke or whatsoever during raining season. If only we knew that our parents in pension will suffer like this after not missing any of the premiums. Surely they handled this TheirWay.

3 days post, requested a call recording. Even today we have not receive any recording from the day the cover was taken. I called again to follow up and to my suprise " we were advised by claims administrator that the outcome will not change. The valued amount the property remains as per the assessors rate (3 Millions) " MiWay surely is contact not to do right by their customers.
