Assessor on a witch hunt
@MiWayInsurance I am beyond disappointed that after years of supporting your brand, this is the experience I am having with my claim.
To clarify: the only period during which I was not insured with MiWay was when I was driving a company vehicle. Outside of that time, I have consistently paid my premiums and remained a loyal client.
From the very beginning of this claim, it did not feel like the matter was being handled with impartiality or fairness. It felt as though the assessor had already formed a conclusion and was simply searching for reasons to support it.
What was initially communicated as a simple request for my son to show where the accident occurred quickly turned into what I can only describe as an aggressive interrogation. The focus shifted away from the actual accident and onto questioning who the regular driver is, as well as challenging his driving ability — despite him holding a valid driver’s license issued by the relevant licensing authority.
I was not given a fair opportunity to provide evidence or clarify concerns. Instead, my son was asked to provide contact details of people who could supposedly “validate” his driving ability. In my view, this is inappropriate and raises serious concerns about objectivity. It did not feel like a neutral fact-finding process — it felt like an attempt to build a case to decline the claim.
What makes this even more troubling is that I submitted a similar claim a few months ago which was approved without this level of scrutiny. The only meaningful difference now is the value of this claim, as the vehicle has been written off. The contrast in how the two claims have been handled is difficult to ignore.
After faithfully paying premiums and even recommending MiWay to family and friends, I expected transparency, integrity, and fairness. Instead, I have been left feeling frustrated, disrespected, and deeply disappointed.
MiWay, this is not how long-standing clients should be treated.
To anyone reading this: protect yourself. Keep records of every interaction, know your policy thoroughly, and do not assume loyalty will guarantee fair treatment — especially when the claim amount is substantial.
Best regards,
The MiWay Team
