Assessor aka Imposter
I recently submitted my 1st accident claim for one of my vehicles on my Miway policy. DISSAPOINTED is an understatement for the treatment I've received thus far. I've cooperated with the assessor from day one, submitting all requested documents, but it seems that he is going out of his way to have my claim not paid. I submitted the cartrack report which he requested, he disputed it, because "according" to him the speed travelled could not have caused so much damage. He then said they will appoint a specialist. I requested to also appoint a specialist to have 2 opinions on the incident. He then sent an email saying they awaiting footage from SAPS. Is this an accident or crime scene? He then called the owners of the complex where the car was parked before the incident imposing to be a lawyer, requesting footage. Saying 'his' client had an incident where guns were involved... To what extent are these people willing to go to not pay out claims? His requested Beacon and Billing consent forms to be signed with is against the POPI Act. He requested bank statements for a week. His now going as far as to request cartrack reports on the other vehicles. What does personal sms and phone records or other vehicle trip reports have to do with an unforseen car accident claim? Have I not been traumatised enough? If Miway does not appreciate my R8531.58 premium, I'll take it elsewhere.
