Accident claim that is not finalized

I have recently put in a claim after my car got an accident. Later the claim was successful with a payment of R8600 and later it was changed to about R5400 and when I ask why it changed from the first amount to this one there was no answer and they promised to check the recordings and it's been days without hearing from them again.
