Absolutely Horrible Service!

I am actually very surprised MiWay has such a high rating as this has been my first encounter with the company and it was dismal.

My vehicle was hit on the fender, bumper and tyre and the driver fled from the scene. I managed to see the guys number plate because I was close by and after some time I tracked him down. It was difficult to get the address but I finally did. The person that knocked me was very apologetic and after back and forth communication. They decided to call their insurance (MIWAY!!).

After the back and forth dealings I was told I need to contact MiWay. I called MiWay and they told me that I need a claim number. So I went back to the person that hit me and they eventually laid the claim. This took a long time because the communication was back and forth.

I finally got the claim number and I called MiWaY. The person that dealt with me, told me that I must get five different documents together including car quotes. By this time I have already spoken to two MiWay staff members! No one told me that there is a notification period on the claim...

I ran around and got all these documents with a damaged car for two months!

I then get a call from Bonga Zondi from MiWay and he calls to tell me that their client should have laid the claim within 30 days. I mean I went through all this hassle and still no one told me about this.. He goes on to tell me how sorry he is but my claim is rejected and that I must ********ly charge his client! This is how you treat your own client MiWaY - thats no way to do business. He insisted that I ********ly charge them for the offense.

Bonga then calls me back and asks me for pictures of my car two days later. I asked him politely, why are you requesting pictures if the claim is rejected. He said they are still making the final decision and I will get an answer in two days. Okay so I waited in anticipation.

Bonga calls me the third day and asks me a whole lot of questions about the incident.. So I explained the situation to him. He then tells me they will make a final decision tomorrow.

On the fourth day I receive no call from him. On the fifth day I called back! Bonga has the audacity to tell me that my claim was rejected yesterday and he told his client but not me! I told him that I waited for a decision on my damaged car and you ask me so much information but cannot tell me that my claim was rejected.

At least have the decency to tell me, I waited two months with a damaged car. I am the victim in this situation not your client! I asked him for a rejection letter and he said he cannot give me one with his clients details, fair enough. I asked for the managers number (Mark) and after calling him I will update this story.

I am absolutely appalled by this and this is not even my insurance company. I swear OUTsurance would have never treated their clients like this, especially with a third party claim. I will be posting all my updates on Facebook and Twitter as this drags on, urgh I hate this company!
