A simple car window claim. 10 Days and waiting

I submitted a car window claim on 4 Oct and today 14Oct I'm still having to drive around without a window which is pretty nerve racking. I've had to contact MiWay twice since I lodged the claim, seeing that they made no effort to contact me. My last conversation with someone in their call centre was that I would receive a call from someone to have my window fixed, and this was 3days ago. I'm still waiting!!! Then I receive an e-mail which contains an "Update" on my policy on 7Oct (three days after my claim was submitted) informing me that my excess for a window claim is no longer R850, but is now all of a sudden gone up to R940. I find this disgusting as I've always honored my obligation towards them which is more than a R1000/month for this car and now they up my excess just a few days after I submitted a claim. I phoned PG glass and they quoted me R1026 to have the window replaced privately. This means that MiWay will only have to fork out R86 for the window after I paid the "NEW" excess of R940. I'm pretty sure they have a wholesale price at PG and therefore the window will probably not cost them a cent. MiWay your conduct is not what I ever expected, and your incomptence to sort out such a diminutive claim is a really bad reflextion on your company as a whole not mentioning your suspicious conduct to increase my excess after I lodged a claim. I will never recommend MiWay to anyone that I care about!! For the general public out there.............Be careful when considerring MiWay. I can't even imagine what I would have to go through for a more serious claim.

Reviewer Update

So here we are again on a Monday morning and the lack of service from MiWay continues. I'm still waiting for a "claims advisor" to contact me, this after I was promised by MiWay that this would happen. Another weekend of driving around without a window.

Thank you for nothing MiWay!!
