THEFT AND SHOCKING SERVICE

SHOCKING service and theft!! My Wife's short wheel base Pajero went in for a service and car was received back with the gear leaver cover on the automatic gear box missing. We were told that this can get damaged over time due to wear and tear which is nonsense as I have the same short wheel base Pajero which is ten years older and the gear lever cover is in pristine condition. The car was practically brand new when it went it. It was taken to two separate car mechanics who said it is physically impossible for a normal untrained mechanic to remove this part without taking apart the gear lever section and putting it back. I am not in the vehicle industry and would not know how to remove this part at all. I have been accused of removing it but I received the car back without it!!! The dealer principal, Mitsubishi national will not take accountability for their staff's theft and will only replace it if I pay for a new part myself!! What kind of service is this?? I do not recommend dealing with this company.
