POOR SERVICE FROM MITSUBISHI SA

The Mitsubishi brand is a great vehicle, however the service offered by the OEM is pathetic. The sales consultant phoned me 6 weeks after the warranty had expired (26/7/2020) to advise me if I am aware the warranty has expired. She further sent me a new warranty quote as a generic document rather than specific to my vehicle.

When asked about specifics she said she would come back to me , this has not yet happened. To add insult to injury on 11/09/2020 my 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander refused to start. After making numerous calls to United Motors in Secunda and Mitsubishi SA, I towed the vehicle in to United Motors. The service consultant advised me that the warranty was valid till February 2021.

I requested United Motors to do the 75000 km service and repair the starting issue but to quote me before doing any repairs to the vehicle which was going to cost me. They agreed to my requests. It too them 4 days to advise on the warrant being expired and unable to do the service as the vehicle only has 71 300 km. I had to tow the vehicle to another service provider for repairs, not withstanding the expenses I had to incur and the inconvenience that it takes 4 days to get confirmation of whether they can work on the vehicle or not.

In these challenging times of a poor economy, one would expect better service from service providers or is it a monopoly of money making.
