new car, new car problems
<p>this is the type of service you can expect from such a well known brand. bought a new Mirage from their dealer in Northcliff and i could have bought a second hand car with the times that the car has been in for faults. when letting them know that after being patient with getting the car back to some sort of "new" and it still having problems, i get told to contact road side assistance to have the "new" car towed to the dealership. the car is not safe at all. the discs on this "new" car were skimmed due to the brakes being ridged bearing in mind this is a brand new car. this was done not even 2 months after purchasing the car. the dealer has been very accomodating in trying to sort out my "new" car issues but Mitsubishi SA has given me this laughable response to me wanting a different "new" car:</p> <p>"Good day Marsha, </p> <p>Kindly note that all repairs are done through our dealership network hence we refer you to the dealership, you can contact our Roadside Assistance (0 ********** 55) to arrange for the vehicle to be towed to the dealership. The warranty is designed to cover both customer and the manufacturer in case of failure as a result of a manufacturing defect. </p> <p>The vehicle will not be replaced, we will cover the repair or replacement of the defective part only. "</p> <p>i paid for something i did not get and that was a brand new car and now i am the one that needs to run around so the dealer can fix their "new" car. 5 months in and 5 book in's to the dealer and this is the assistance i receive from Mitsubishi SA.</p>
thank you for your very diplomatic response but unfortunately what you fail to acknowledge is that your dealer sold me a product that was not in line with the terms under which it was sold to me. this car is not new in any aspect of the word. the defectiveness of this car is not only a risk to me and my passangers but to others on the road as well and the fact that your establishment put their name behind such defective products and in no way are willing to correct their mistake by selling a product in this condition says very little about Mitsubishi. hopefully the Onbudsman will also see that the product sold to me according to CPA was not satisfactory. having discs skimmed on a "new" car under 2 months old and still having braking issues to this day is not a safe product and should be replaced with a product that is safe.
