Mitsubishi - False information and bad customer service

In October 2010 I bought a new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport. In February 2012, after a holiday in Cape Town, it was discovered during a service that the engine was seriously damaged. First I was told this was my fault but after closer examination it turned out to be a manufacturing fault. I was told that the car would be fitted with a new engine. In February 2018 the car broke down during a holiday to the Kruger Park. It was discovered that the engine had ceased. It now turns out that in 2012 the car was not fitted with a new engine but rather with a subassembly and as many parts as possible from the damaged engine, obviously to save as much money as possible for Mitsubish. Amongst these parts was also the timing chain. Examinations from an assessor have proven that this timing chain is broken on many parts which is totally unusual. In my case the timing chain did not break but stretched which at the end of the day caused the engine to burn a piston over a long period of time. Had this timing chain broken like a normal one it would have cut out the engine with no further damage. The first incident occurred at 29.800km and the second one now at 72.400km. which means at 72.400km my car is now being fitted with the 3rd engine at my costs. Would anybody like to buy it? The reaction from Mitsubishi has been “yes we cannot believe this damage, we have never seen anything like this before, but the car is out of warranty so it is your problem and if you don’t like it go to an ombudsman”. So much for good customer care. So in future if Mitsubishi tells you that your car is being fitted with a new engine during the warranty period check twice what they mean by that. I have been quoted R300.000 to fit a new engine.
