Mitsubishi continually disappoints

A year ago I purchased a Mitsubishi vehicle with an extended maintenance plan - covering the vehicle till December 2017. I had no issues with the car, except for a bugging rattle on the back wheels. After inspection the dealership notified me that the braking system needs attention. I had no objection as I naturally assumed the plan would cover this. To my amazement, the dealership did not know if this was the case, and has no physical guide as to what the plan covers (think about this next time you pay in excess of R15000 for this "complete cover"). I sent countless emails to the dealership and the 3rd party Mitsubishi uses for their coverage -Liquid capital (it is not official Mitsubishi administration it would seem, and the communication between these 2 companies is non existant). They eventualy took the car in and worked on the issue - less than a week after the vehicle was "repaired" the issue arrised yet again. I returned on which the dealership said they will have to change the entire braking system. Yet again I agreed to this. It has been an ongoing battle ever since. The company simply refused to fix the parts and used all kinds of excuses to which I continually objected. Eventually they agreed to "cover the required repair". I was relieved at first but one month of waiting for the parts have turned to 3 months, I have emailed countless times and when I eventually got a reply, I was informed that they will yet again not cover the full necessary repair - this after confirming the repairs with me. The dealership even has quotes (of which the amounts and repair information was shared with me) for the repair. I expressed my disappointment and reluctance to this with David *****ya - the senior customer care consultant of Mitsubishi. His answer to me was that I am welcome to phone Liquid Capital myself. Seems like a customer has to do his own admin work on repair claims in this day and age. I am utterly unhappy with the way I am being left in the dark, the way my query is being handled differently each day and that after 3 months of battling no person in Mitsubishi or Liquid Capital have apologized for the inconvenience or taken charge to resolve my issue. I have no idea what is going on behind the scenes and am unsure what my rights are at this stage. Any advice is most welcome

Dear Kelvin

Kindly note that Liquid Capital are the underwriters for the Maintenance Plan Policy. All claims submitted are assessed and adjudicated by Liquid Capital. Liquid Capital approved the replacement of the caliper seals and rejected the claim for the complete caliper replacement.

We will appreciate an independent ruling from the Motor Industry Ombudsman.

10 Months later after this reply - my vehicle has been booked in by die dealership 4 times after the above!!! The last two visits ended in one claiming I should change my tires and revert, after this (knowing this was not the cause!) I was told I should now see if the noise goes away when replacing my shocks - all this after I've been told on numerous occasions that it is the breaks??? My Maintenance plan has expired in the meantime and it would seem legal action is now required - how is it possible that approved, official dealerships are unable to detect and resolve such issues??

UPDATE: after the above complaint I returned the vehicle to the dealership, they had it in their possession for 4 business days (Wednesday 23 May till Monday 28 May) the vehicles brake caliber pins were replaced, but with unsuccessful result toward the original problem. After a follow-up test drive the dealership's service manager acknowledged that the problem persists, and admitted he does not know how to solve the problem. He informed me that he will be in contact with Mitsubishi. Though I appreciate the effort, I want to emphasis that this is really not acceptable, I live 360km from the dealer and have to make special arrangements at my place of work for each time an attempt is made on finding a solution toward this issue. I never get a full response, the communication is always short and without much explanation. I am beginning to believe that Mitsubishi is trying to avoid a recall situation in this case, clearly there is something uniquely wrong with the brake system. What concerns me the most is that originally I was told that this issue poses no danger to the occupants of the vehicle, after the last visit, the service center informed me that the rattling noise worsens as I drive, because grooves are being "hit" into my braking components by this mystery rattle (which no one knows the origin of) - let it be acknowledged here that I am doing all I can - and have been doing so - since the acquisition of the vehicle, which was still on maintenance plan till December 2017. Should I or any occupant in future be involved in any form of accident resulting from the brakes, Mitsubishi has been in full knowledge of this issue for more than a year, avoiding any real measures to try and rectify the situation - not only from a technical side, but truly disappointing from a customer care side as well.
