**********! Recall part failed? Ever replaced???

I am absolutely disgusted with Mitsubishi. I've owned 2 outlanders (being my favorite)- a 2007 and 2009 model. Both had recalls and both were sent in to umhlanga branch. I then sold my 2007 and kept the 2009. In 2015 late, it had an ecu recall. In early 2016 I had a battery failure. Immediately thereafter the abs and engine warnings started popping up. As a mechanical engineer of over 15years myself, I researched online to see that this is a common issue with the outlanders in that age group due to a voltage problem on the ecu and the recall was supposed to fix this. Since then I have been to and forth with umhlanga running tests at my own cost and requesting proof of ecu replacement but nothing to date! Where's the old part? Where's the invoice and serial codes? Instead they want to charge me R70000 for a new ecu?! ***! A new ecu if ever replaced should never have failed within 24 months! And I'm talking from an engineering background! I'm taking you guys to court ----I even complained to your customer care center months ago and no feedback yet! I had enough! Mitsubishi is ********* and **********! My car is reduced to worthless if I have to pay R70k which is worth more than my car now! Pathetic and ridiculous! Go look at your recalls and see how many branches were de*****ing customers! Luckily I'm an engineer and I can analyse fault codes but what about an average customer???

Dear Marousha
Kindly note that the manufacturer is liable for repair costs for failures that occur during the warranty period as a result of a manufacturing defect only or if there is a recall campaign for the failed parts. There is no recall campaign for the ECU and Hydraulic pump hence the repairs will be for your account.
