Contractor with no experience

<p>Unfortunately we were the victim of yet another horror contractor story. We thought we did it right by taking a recommendation from a trustworthy source. The source has now also been informed that his contact is not worth it. </p> <p> </p> <p>Mark Mitchell is a smooth talker with lovely promises and guarantees. Until the work actually started. His total lack of building knowledge quickly showed. Even his own sub contractors walked out on him. Total lack of knowledge, professionalism, and a blatant lyer made us call security eventually to have him removed from our property. He caused so much damage to our house that his 50% retention money won't even cover our costs. He never covered our existing counter tops, toilets, showers and basins. This resulted in extensive damage to these surfaces from tiles that chipped onto it. He was suppose to move a toilet but only left us with a gaping stinking whole in the wall. He damaged all our internal doors, and shattered our 1.5m walk in shower glass. Laminate flooring was badly fitted with no finishings. In his quote he said it will be a 12 day job. After 6 weeks we sit with costs in excess of R20 000 to repair and correct his poor work. The man of the hour is obviously ignoring all contact. I sincerely hope that no one else falls prey to this man! </p>
