We paid the venue for self-catering well before their due date but unfortunately our wedding was cancelled. The owner Imker refuses to give our money back. He claims a terms and condition that he only sent when we paid a 50% deposit Imker refuses to give our refund for the venue!
Do not use this place. They are all sweet and nice in the start but become bitter and resentful when you need your money back, Check the other reviews, these people are ridiculous!!!
below is a letter addressed to me 2 days ago that i just received after advising them on the 3rd of July.!!!
Dear Farah-Naaz, We hereby acknowledge your notice of last week, regarding the cancellation of your wedding, originally scheduled for11 August 2018. We are also truly saddened by this unfortunate event in your life. Your various telephone calls over the past days regarding a refund are also noted. Kindly note that Misty River handles all event cancellations strictly in terms of our T&C's (a copy of which had been forwarded to you and received back duly signed by yourself) which reads as follows: "Cancellations and Postponements of Functions by the Client -All cancellations will be subject to the client's 25% non refundable deposit being forfeited . -In the event of cancellation or rescheduling of the function, less than 90 days prior to the function date no refund will be applicable and all monies paid by the client forfeited. -In the event of cancellation or rescheduling of the function, more than 90 days prior to the function date, a refund of the balance of monies paid by the client, will only me made in the event of Misty River being able to re-sell the venue for a similar function on the date for which the function was booked. Resheduling of all functions will be subject to a R2 500 administration fee." The conditions applicable to your case has been highlighted in red font. To be specific, you will therefore not be eligible for a refund due to the fact that there is insufficient time available in which to re-book the date for another event. We trust that you will appreciate that these measures apply in mitigation of the risk of suffering a financial loss, by Misty River as a result of your actions.
