We went into the branch on Monday February 17th to ask about printing on a single piece of my own transfer paper. This was for my personal use and not for my business. I spoke to a consultant and was told that they wouldn't use my paper and I would have to print on their paper. I explained that it was for ironing onto a shirt and the consultant told me that they had no more transfer paper and he insisted printing a design using their sublimation ink onto their paper, which I had never used before and even the consultant didn't sound as if he understood how it worked. When I asked how it would work, he wasn't able to explain it to me in a straight forward way. During this process, he also spoke about other printing methods and kept bringing up mug printing, which wasn't what I wanted to do. He assisted me in printing the design and once he handed me the paper, the ink was very dull. He then said that it would only become vibrant after pressing it with an industrial heat press. He failed to mention to me at any point that I, an individual printing on a single piece of paper, would need an industrial heat press to transfer the design. I asked if I was able to use and iron, and he didn't know. I asked if anyone in the building might know and was told no. He didn't even bother to try and find out. There were three other employees within our vicinity and none of them butchered to help. I enquired as to how much the heat press would be and was then told he would need to do a quote to tell me. I had to fill in a form and waited quite long for him to come back to me with the quote, despite being in a hurry. The quote he gave me was R212 to print and heat press, which I feel is a ridiculous amount to suddenly have to pay, especially because I have a tight budget and didn't account for this expense. He didn't apologize once and when he put the paper into an envelope, he put it in sideways, scrunching up the paper in the process. I still had to pay R80 for paper that I am now unable to use. My experience was very unsatisfactory and I hope others don't have the same experience. The salesman was Thabo Maluleke and it was at the Silverton branch.
