Unauthorised deductions and unresolved refund

I purchased a set of four tyres with fitment from Minty’s Greenstone. A refund was requested by myself and approved for R10 956.05, however only R10 408.00 was paid. An unexplained amount of R548.05 was withheld without my consent or prior disclosure.

When queried, I was told the deduction was made on instruction from their Director for “bank fees”. Despite the refund being processed via EFT, I was then asked to return the refunded amount so they could re-refund the full amount to my credit card, claiming they “do not do EFTs” yet they were more than happy to process an EFT when they felt entitled to make the ******** deduction.

To compound matters, they sent me an internal management procedure document intended for staff, expecting me to act on it as a customer.

As of 5 January 2026, no corrected refund has been received despite the matter being formally raised on 9 December 2025. This conduct is *********, misleading, and raises serious concerns about compliance with consumer protection laws and the Director's behaviour.
