Mintys special tyre specials

I have been looking to buy new tyres and decided to shop around and online for some specials, came across an online Price lock down ad by Mintys and since we are not too far and there was load shedding in my area decided to pay them a visit. Its Monday the 8th June 2020 at about half past 1 I had to wait almost 10 minutes for the person manning the front desk to be called out from wherever he was, there was only one car being attended to and the client was most likely the one sitting in the waiting area. The fact that I had to wait does not bother me as much as what I was about to hear, so I proceeded to ask about the lockdown specials and the man at the till proceeded to give me a price, once I realised the price being offered was not the price i had seen online, i asked the gentlemen about it and a very short war of words ensued until i was dismissed by being told to read the terms and conditions at the bottom left of that screen, today is the 10th June 2020 and as instructed i went back to the Mintys site and the AD is still displaying full and yes the terms and conditions clearly state specials are valid till 11th April. Would I be fair in assuming Mintys are advertising old specials in order to get consumer traffic be it telephonic-ally or by walk ins. The fact that the gentlemen even ask what specials i was referring to and immediatley said those are old prices and proceeded to provide me with a price. I then asked if they were aware of the Ads on their site to confirm they are, they instructed me to check the terms and conditions on the bottom left of that page, seems shady. I would like to believe Mintys do not have to resort to such tactics to drive traffic and I know its not a matter of the site not being updated as their staff are quick to point to the terms and conditions. I am deeply disappointing that a reputable company like this would resort to such and the fact that i was made to wait without even an apology just makes the entire service terrible.

Can I approach the Competitions authority regarding this, or maybe the consumer protection service and this is unacceptable.
