Review of Mini Movers located in Primrose Germiston– Extremely Disappointing Experience I would like to share my experience with Mini Movers following our relocation from Gauteng to KwaZulu-Natal. Unfortunately, this was one of the most disappointing service experiences I have ever encountered, and I cannot recommend this company. We booked and paid for our household furniture and belongings to be transported to KZN via an enclosed truck on a shared load. Our belongings were collected on 27 March 2026 and were to be stored safely at the company's Gauteng depot until the scheduled delivery date of 9 April 2026. From that point onward, the experience was marked by constant delays, poor communication, and what appeared to be misleading information. Our delivery date was postponed multiple times, with various explanations provided, including difficulties filling the truck and increases in diesel prices. On one occasion, we were informed that the truck carrying our belongings had already left Johannesburg and that delivery would take place the following Monday. We later discovered this was untrue, as our furniture had never left Gauteng. Despite these repeated setbacks, we remained patient and understanding. Our belongings were eventually delivered on 2 May 2026—a full 36 days after collection. What followed was even more concerning. Our belongings arrived on a bakkie and trailer, not in the enclosed truck service for which we had paid. The driver advised that he was new to the company and had been called out to assist with transporting the trailer after attending to a vehicle issue. This raised serious concerns that our belongings may have been transported on an open trailer rather than the enclosed vehicle specified in our agreement. When our belongings arrived, the condition was shocking. Almost every box was water-damaged, weakened, and falling apart. Numerous items sustained damage due to prolonged exposure to water. My husband's collection of mechanical books—many of which were inherited from his father and hold significant sentimental value—was ruined. One cupboard was completely destroyed, having broken in half due to water damage, while another was severely affected. Clothing was damp, stained, mouldy, and carried a strong musty odour. Our microwave handle was broken, along with several smaller household items. It was evident that our furniture, clothing, and personal belongings had been exposed to substantial rain or water over an extended period. The extent of the damage was unacceptable. It was also apparent that other customers' furniture and mirrors being transported as part of the shared load had suffered similar damage. We immediately contacted Mini Movers to report the damage and initiate a claim. Unfortunately, our messages have been ignored, and the office manager has failed to respond. To date, there has been no accountability, assistance, or attempt to resolve the matter. As a result of the extensive damage and the company's lack of response, we are now pursuing legal action. This experience has been extremely stressful, costly, and disappointing. Mini Movers failed to honour their commitments, provided poor communication throughout the process, and have taken no responsibility for the damage caused to our belongings. I strongly advise potential customers to think carefully before using this company. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Mini Movers.
