Milward and King Toxic property

I want to warn anyone that is considering Milward and King property agency for accommodation to think twice before they accept their offer for accommodation.

We rented a property from Milward and King property agency for accommodation. The lease commenced on the 1st of December 2019. We paid for 12 months up front because the agent told us that we do not qualify for month to month rental.

This is our 6th month and our lives have been turned upside down. We've been under the worst cruel and vicious treatment by this agency. The ceiling and the walls have a mold. It started few days after it rained during April. I immediately reported it to the agent. She said that there's nothing they can do due to the lockdown.

Since April, we've been breathing and inhaling mold in the apartment. I expected that they would offer us alternative accommodation but instead their attitude is that we either leave or continue living under these conditions. The mold has become worse and seeing how toxic it has become, we've decided to move out because I fear we get sick. I requested that the Milward and King property agency give us our money back so we can rent another place, but the agent said that we will only get our money after we have vacated the property.

I mean they are the ones that was supposed to get us alternative accommodation in the first place as it turned out the mold was caused by the leak on the roof. This mold has damaged and destroyed my furniture which I bought the same month of December last year when I was moving in.

What's more painful is that this agent that offered us this accommodation does not show remorse for the traumatic experience we had during these 6 months of staying in this property.

So if you consider renting a property from these people I would say don't consider them no matter how desperate you are but if you do consider them and take my words for granted, you'll regret it.
