Milpark's communication s****'s and assistance is putrid.

I wrote an Economics exam in May 2019 of which I failed by 4% - this was ONLY the exam just by the way. May 2019 was difficult as I lost a very close family member on the day of my exam. I communicated this with Milpark as I had a leg to stand on regarding my 2 other modules of which I received a distinction for both except Economics ofcourse. In a nutshell, the lecturer created expectations to the idea where he was willing to help, I eventually got shoved off to the HOD who was completely useless! It took me 7 months to get an answer from Milpark regarding my Economics exam and on the 19th December I was told by the HOD as if he is doing me the greatest favour after ignoring every single email of mine for a month "I have decided to grant you the supplementary exam, your exam is scheduled for 10 Jan 2020". My first question to my lecturer was whether my notes & textbook would be good enough as the module's syllabus was scheduled to change according to the letter sent out in July 2019, he said yes. I got the exam overview link and sheet that was for the October exam 2019 which was not helpful at all. I thought there would be much more assistance offered considering that I basically missed a whole semester of the "new" work because the last time I had looked at Economics was months ago. I was also not informed about the R1680.00 that I had to pay in order to write the supp exam.

I went to write my supp exam as best as I could regarding the notes that were given to me. I was not even on the list to write the supp exam even after all my confirmations with the lecturer and student support before the exam took place.

I received the marks today and am missing 1% in order to pass. I questioned the lecturer on why the formative marks are not included when the final results are released for the supp exam as this was NEVER communicated with me even though I asked a million questions because I have never had to write a supplementary exam before. His response was "Sorry you did not make it".

Milpark is now expecting me to pay an additional +/- R6500 to REDO the module because of 1%!

Currently, feel like the business faculty is just about making money and not concerned in assisting their distance learning students at all.
