Milpark registered me for a module without my consent — then denied it and dismissed my appeal

For transparency, here is the response I received from Milpark’s Technical Student Support Administrator, Jodie Johnson:

“The module CPBI01-6, for which you were provisionally registered, has now been formally cancelled. Since you had indicated that you did not wish to proceed with registration, no further action is required on your part. The Academic Committee has reviewed your appeal thoroughly and has issued a final decision. As per institution policy, this decision is not subject to further review or appeal.”

This response is unacceptable because it ignores the core issues:

I was registered for a module without my consent. I received an SMS confirming that registration, yet Milpark’s appeal feedback falsely claimed only my original modules were confirmed — which is not true. My appeal was dismissed on technicalities, with Milpark stating there is “no higher authority,” instead of taking accountability.

Milpark is avoiding responsibility and leaving me to bear the financial and academic consequences of their mistake. This is neither fair nor transparent.

If Milpark does not resolve this matter properly, I will escalate it to the Council on Higher Education and the Department of Higher Education and Training

Good day Portia

Thank you once again for your complaint.

Kindly please refer to the email sent to you this morning.

The email confirmed that you are NOT registered for module "Commercial Property and Business Interruption Insurance" but you received communication that you have been provisionally registered.

The registration was not processed as you have not agreed to this registration.

Regarding the Appeal feedback, the decision made by the Academic team is final.

Your Appeal has been thoroughly investigated multiples times and the decision made is final.

Should you wish to respond to this response, kindly please reply to the email sent to you from Jodie Johnson.

Regards

Reviewer Update

Milpark, your response once again avoids accountability.

You continue to say my registration was “not processed,” yet I received an SMS confirming it. That means my details were entered into your system without my consent — whether provisional or not, that is still registration. Instead of taking responsibility for this irregularity, you dismiss it by repeating that “the decision is final.”

The issue here is not simply my appeal outcome. The issue is that I was registered for a module without my consent, and my deferment and appeal were dismissed without this fact being properly reviewed. Saying “the decision is final” does not resolve the core problem.

I am not satisfied with this response, and since Milpark refuses to address the matter fairly, I will be escalating this case to the Council on Higher Education and the Department of Higher Education and Training for proper review.
